Exploring: mentors (teachers)are guiding the students through their issue with the lens of students-initiated questions.
Wondering: Inquiry extends students’ learning when the exploration of initial curiosity generates new questions and wondering.
Questioning: Using the inquiry of their needs about the issue, questions are tools to guide them in solving their inquiry.

After exploring about the current issue that happen during pandemic, the students and mentors decided to narrow down the topic into Edutourism. We defined edutourism and identify which particular government institution that are responsible for Edutourism.

MAKING CONNECTIONS BETWEEN PREVIOUS LEARNING AND CURRENT LEARNING

Before further do, the students and mentors discuss together to set the target in each week. Setting up the timeline helps to set clear priorities and directions during the exhibition.

Previous learning is a basic knowledge of these students in gathering all the information related to their issue. The issue related to the previous learning is what can we do to help the edu-tourism to keep guide the students in exploring the learning.

Pre-K – Play

Based on their identifying of previous learning; they remembered that the first time they visit the museum is when they learned in Pre K. That time, they think that Museum Layang-Layang is not a place to keep the historical artifacts, but the place to play a toy called Layang-Layang

K1 – Story

Next learning experienced is when they learn about their identity in K1, where they learned about stories, they saw that Indonesia has their own culture in telling the story through Wayang. Another experienced to visit museum; museum Wayang. Again, they remembered that Museum Wayang is a place to keep their grandparents’ toys.

Grade 1 – Public Places

The next experienced is when they learn about public places in Grade 1 under the transdisciplinary theme of How we organize ourselves; on this journey, they learned that some public places are visited by the visitor with some of terms and conditions, with different purposes. Due to this pandemic, some educative public places have a significant decrease related to their economic income. They bring the economic issue as their inquiry

Grade 3 – Digital Media

The next journey is when they are in Grade 3, they learn that social digital is influenced people in interaction. Pandemic teaches the community to be creative in developing their skills to promote their public places.

​​COLLECTING DATA AND REPORTING FINDING/ RESEARCHING AND SEEKING INFORMATION

To support our inquiry about the topic discussed, we invited some primary resources to help us finding the answer about Edutourism. We interviewed from the personal approach, local government and the ministry that manage Edutourism. They are:

  1. The representative from Museum MACAN. We would like to know and see from the personal perspective, what they do to run the business during the pandemic.
  2. The Representative from SeaWorld, to identify what the local government’s action to help some edutourism places that get impact from pandemic.
  3. The representative from KEMENPAREKRAF, to find out and examine what kind of program from KEMENPAREKRAF that manage edutourism.
  4. The Representative from Museum Nasional, as one of the oldest museum, to identify the interest of people in visiting museum before and after pandemic..
