1. Identifying Issue
The article highlights the growing concern about Generation Z’s struggle with social skills, largely due to their upbringing in a digital world dominated by social media. Unlike previous generations, Gen Z has had unrestricted access to online platforms from an early age, often shaping their communication and interactions through screens rather than face-to-face conversations. This heavy reliance on virtual communication has contributed to difficulties in expressing emotions, forming meaningful relationships, and engaging in real-world social situations. As a result, many young individuals find it challenging to navigate workplace dynamics, develop strong interpersonal connections, or demonstrate confidence in social settings.
On the other hand, the video illustrates the theme of integrity, depicting children who strive to uphold honesty and moral values despite facing various challenges. Unlike the passive social interactions observed in the digital age, the children in the video actively work towards building trust and accountability in their community. Their determination to practice integrity highlights the importance of real-world experiences in shaping ethical values and personal development. Comparing these two perspectives, the contrast becomes evident—while social media can hinder face-to-face interactions, real-life challenges, as shown in the movie, play a crucial role in fostering character growth and meaningful relationships.
Through our research and analysis of various articles and videos, a clear and urgent need for solutions to address declining morality and honesty has emerged. The evidence points to a growing concern about the erosion of ethical values in various aspects of society, from personal interactions to professional conduct. This necessitates a proactive approach to not only understand the root causes of this issue but also to develop effective strategies for fostering a culture of integrity. We recognize that inaction will have significant consequences, potentially leading to a breakdown of trust and social cohesion. Therefore, our focus is on identifying and exploring concrete solutions that can promote ethical behavior and strengthen moral compasses within individuals and communities.
To tackle this complex issue, we have developed a structured approach centered around key central ideas, lines of inquiry, and specific learning outcomes. Our central ideas revolve around the importance of ethical frameworks, the impact of societal influences on moral development, and the role of education in promoting honesty and integrity. These ideas will be explored through lines of inquiry that delve into the psychological and sociological factors affecting moral decision-making, the effectiveness of different intervention strategies, and the long-term consequences of moral decline. Ultimately, our learning outcomes aim to equip us with a deeper understanding of the challenges to morality and honesty, the ability to critically evaluate potential solutions, and the capacity to contribute to positive change in our communities by promoting ethical behavior.
2. Determining Time Frame
3. Engaging Support from the Learning Community
The Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) organization teaches us the importance of integrity in building a responsible and ethical society. As part of the community, we must take the initiative to educate ourselves and others about the value of honesty, transparency, and accountability. ICW emphasizes that unethical behavior starts with awareness and education. By learning about the consequences of dishonesty , individuals can become more conscious of their actions and the impact they have on society. This knowledge empowers people to make ethical decisions and promote integrity in their daily lives.
Moreover, ICW encourages individuals to be risk-takers when standing up for what is right, even in difficult situations. Integrity often requires courage, especially when unethical practices in our surroundings. By fostering a culture where people are unafraid to speak up against dishonesty, ICW helps create a society where accountability is valued. As members of the community, we can follow this example by actively promoting integrity in schools, workplaces, and social settings. Through continuous education and fearless advocacy, we can contribute to a more just and transparent society.
Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) serves as a bridge between the public and the government, empowering communities to take an active role in holding public officials accountable. By fostering a culture of transparency and civic engagement, ICW helps ensure that public funds are used effectively and fairly—paving the way for better education, healthcare, infrastructure, and opportunities for all Indonesians.
As a non-governmental organization, ICW is fueled by the passion and participation of the people. It works tirelessly to monitor government practices and expose corruption, encouraging collaboration between civil society and state institutions. This partnership strengthens democracy and helps build a nation where justice and fairness become the foundation of everyday life.
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) teaches us that Indonesia has three different legal enforcement systems to maintain order and justice for its citizens. However, as students, rather than focusing on the complexities of the legal system, we should emphasize the core values that help build integrity in our daily lives. KPK strongly promotes integrity through its nine key values: Honest, Discipline, Humble, Caring, Responsibility, Risk-Taker, Independent, Hard Worker, and Fairness. These values serve as fundamental principles that guide individuals to act ethically and contribute positively to society. By internalizing these values, we can develop strong moral character and become responsible citizens who uphold justice and honesty.
Among these nine values, honesty and responsibility play a crucial role in shaping our behavior as students. Being truthful in academic and personal matters helps build trust, while responsibility ensures that we take ownership of our actions. Additionally, qualities like discipline and hard work enable us to stay committed to our goals, while fairness and caring foster a sense of justice and empathy for others. By applying these principles in our daily interactions—whether in school, at home, or in the community—we not only strengthen our personal integrity but also contribute to a better and more ethical society. Through KPK’s teachings, we learn that integrity is not just a concept but a way of life that requires continuous effort and commitment.
4. Organizing Learning
All the knowledge we gathered from the expert insights and various credible sources served as the foundation for our initiative. We carefully studied the information, evaluated its relevance, and ensured its accuracy through in-depth analysis and discussion. These insights provided a solid framework for understanding the issue at hand and shaped our approach to addressing it in a meaningful way.
To ensure the practical value of what we learned, we took the next step by conducting a social experiment. This allowed us to bring the theories and findings into a real-world setting, engaging directly with the community. Through this experiment, we were able to observe how society responded, measure the impact, and validate the effectiveness of the knowledge we had acquired. It was not just about learning—it was about applying that knowledge to make a difference.
1. MARSHMALLOW TEST
The marshmallow test is a psychological experiment designed to measure delayed gratification in young children. In this test, a child is given a choice between receiving one small reward immediately—typically a marshmallow—or waiting for a short period to receive a larger reward. The experiment is used to observe how well children can exercise self-control and resist immediate temptation for a greater benefit later. The results of the test have shown that many young children are capable of demonstrating self-control, highlighting their ability to delay gratification even at an early age. This behavior provides valuable insight into their emotional and cognitive development.
2. SURVEY TO PYP STUDENTS
A survey conducted with 50 students from Al Jabr revealed an interesting insight into their sense of integrity. The students were remarkably honest in admitting that they sometimes do not follow certain rules. This openness reflects a strong foundation of honesty, a core value of integrity. However, the findings also suggest that while they are truthful about their actions, there is a need to remind and guide them to better understand the importance of consistently applying integrity across all aspects of their behavior—especially in the specific activities where they tend to overlook the rules. This highlights an opportunity for growth through positive reinforcement and targeted reflection.
3. CCTV Check
Through a CCTV check, we were able to observe student behavior during the first 15 minutes of lateness. Interestingly, some students were seen walking calmly without showing any sense of urgency or concern. This lack of worry suggests that there may be no clear or consistent agreement between class teachers and students regarding the consequences of being late. Without established expectations or follow-up, students may not feel the importance of punctuality, which points to the need for clearer communication and consistent enforcement of school policies around lateness.
4. Homeroom survey
We also conducted a survey among the homeroom teachers of the 12 PYP classes and found that only a few of them consistently informed parents when students were repeatedly late. This indicates that the message about the importance of integrity—specifically, showing responsibility by arriving on time—may not be reaching families effectively. Regular communication with parents can play a key role in reinforcing the value of punctuality and encouraging students to develop stronger habits. The findings suggest a need for a more unified approach among homeroom teachers to support students in practicing integrity through timely attendance.
5. Monitoring The Exhibition
After learning more deeply about the meaning of integrity, the values that come with it, and real-life examples of how it’s practiced, we felt inspired to take action. We realized that integrity isn’t just a concept to be discussed—it’s a value that should be lived. From honesty and responsibility to fairness and consistency, these principles guide how we treat others and make decisions. Learning about role models who live with integrity also reminded us that this value can be a powerful force for positive change in any community.
Motivated by this understanding, we decided to create products that reflect and share our insights about integrity. Whether through posters, videos, social media content, or creative art, our goal is to spread the message that integrity is not only important, but something we can all practice in our daily lives. By sharing our work with others, we hope to inspire more people to appreciate the value of doing the right thing—even when no one is watching—and to realize that living with integrity helps build a more trustworthy, respectful, and united society.

The first time,
We shared the product of our action with the Al Jabr community was during the Monday morning circle, known as Ikrar Time. During this moment, we presented a video that highlighted the nine values we had been exploring. It was a meaningful opportunity to connect with the wider community and give them a glimpse into our work. At the same time, we extended an invitation for them to visit our workshop on Wednesday, where we would share another expression of our action and continue the conversation in a more interactive way.
The second time,
We shared our work with the Al Jabr community took place during a workshop held in the auditorium. This session was designed for a group of invited students, creating a more focused and engaging environment. We took this opportunity to present the different forms our project had taken, including an animation that brought our ideas to life and a book that captured the process and values behind our action. We also explained the meaning and message behind the poster we created, which served as a visual summary of our journey and the importance of integrity.
To make the experience more interactive and memorable, we included a series of games centered around the theme of integrity. These activities were not only fun but also meaningful, as they helped the participants connect with the values on a personal level. The workshop became a space where ideas could be exchanged, creativity celebrated, and the impact of our work extended beyond our own team.
The third time,
As part of our mission to share the values of integrity with a broader community, we brought our project to SDN Jogjogan in Cisarua, Bogor. This school holds a special connection with Al Jabr Islamic School, as we have built a strong and supportive relationship over time. Because of this bond, we were confident that anything we shared there—especially something as meaningful as integrity—would be received with openness and a willingness to apply it in the students’ daily lives.
During our visit, we presented several elements of our project, including the animation, the poster, and the book we had created. These tools helped us explain the concept of integrity in creative and engaging ways. To make the session even more interactive, we conducted a Q&A session where the students could ask questions and share their thoughts. We also invited them to play games that reflected real-life scenarios involving integrity, allowing them to explore the values through action and discussion.
The students of SDN Jogjogan responded with great enthusiasm. They were attentive, curious, and eager to participate throughout the session. Their energy and interest showed us that the message we brought truly resonated with them. It was heartwarming to see how engaged they were, and it strengthened our belief that integrity can be nurtured through meaningful interactions and shared learning experiences.
6. Sharing The Exhibition
The final day of our journey is approaching—Panel Day, a significant milestone where we present our understanding and progress to the Head of School, Board of School, Principal, and the PYP Coordinator. This day serves not only as a presentation but also as a reflection point, allowing us to showcase our efforts, insights, and the direction our inquiry has taken. It is an opportunity to articulate how we’ve explored the concept of integration in education and how we’ve gathered and analyzed data to support our findings.
Panel Day also acts as a crucial checkpoint to evaluate whether we are truly on the right track. Through the feedback and questions from the panel, we gain valuable insights into the strengths and gaps in our work. It is a chance to refine our focus, confirm the validity of our data, or determine if further investigation is needed. Ultimately, this day represents both a culmination of our efforts so far and a guidepost for the next steps in our learning journey.
Alhamdulillah, we were able to confidently respond to all the questions addressed to us during the presentation. Our preparation and deep understanding of the topic allowed us to provide clear and thoughtful answers. We believe that everyone in the room—including the Head of School, Board members, Principal, and PYP Coordinator—was pleased with the way we presented our findings and responded to their inquiries. Their positive reactions and engagement gave us a strong sense of accomplishment and assurance that our efforts have been well-received.
Exhibition Day marks the final and most exciting stage of our journey, where we proudly share the results of our research on the theme of INTEGRITY. It is a moment to celebrate our learning and to communicate the depth of our understanding to a wider audience, including students, teachers, parents, and school leaders. We believe that the audience is genuinely curious and eager to learn more about our chosen topic—not just the definition of integrity, but also how it applies in real-life situations. Our display and presentation are designed to engage and inform, showing how we explored integrity through inquiry, collaboration, and critical thinking.
Through our explanation, we hope the audience gains a deeper appreciation for the role integrity plays in shaping individuals and communities. We emphasize that integrity is not just a personal value, but a foundation for building trust, responsibility, and ethical decision-making. By highlighting real examples and thoughtful reflections, we aim to inspire others to practice integrity in their daily lives. Ultimately, we hope our exhibition plants a seed of awareness and responsibility, helping to pave the way for a future generation of Indonesians who uphold strong moral values and contribute positively to society.
