SDG ( Sustainable Development Goals)

Key Concept : Connection
Step 1 : Identifying Global Issues.
Let’s start with the GLOBAL ISSUE. The global issue is that the number of new garments made yearly has nearly doubled over the past twenty years, and international fashion consumption has increased by 400%. The fast fashion industry significantly contributes to the climate crisis, responsible for as much as 10% of global carbon dioxide emissions.Â

Step 2 : Determining Time & Frame.

During step 2, we set the time frame for our exhibition. We also discuss the possible primary resources that can give us information about our topic. We plan to visit Kementerian Lingkungan Hidup (KLHK), Cotton Ink, Rinda Salmun Workshop. Before we visit those places, we try to find information about the impact of fast fashion and zero waste. Then, we found out that this company use the natural fabric that save for the environment.Â

Step 3 : Engaging Support From Learning Community
To get more knowledge we visited KLHK (Kementerian Lingkungan hidup dan kehutanan). We have a lot of data, such as that the fastest-growing fashion industries in the world have already produced 62,3 - 97 million tonnes of fashion waste!

Step 4 : Organizing Learning
Science Experiment

These are kinds of fabric tested.
(from left to right)
1. Spandex.
2. Polyster.
3. Cotton.
4. Denim.
5. Nylon.

The result is :
Cotton has the least smoke density and it's the savest for the environment. While Denim has the most smoke density and it's bad for environment. We did a fabric burn test to prove that some fabrics are bad for the environment. As the conclussion, Cotton produces the least pollution, while Denim has the most air pollution.

Step 6 : Sharing The Exhibition
Actions: After completing our data through experiments and researchs, then we committed to do some actions.
1st Action : Share the knowledge to Al Jabr Community about Fast Fashion Waste.
2nd Action : SIS (Sigaporean Intercultural Action)
@ Fast Fashion Waste.
